Privacy Policy

How The Hosting Mill collects, uses and protects personal information when you read our reviews, use our tools or contact us. We collect as little as we can and never sell it.

01

Who we are

The Hosting Mill (“we”, “us”, “our”) publishes independent web hosting reviews, comparisons and guides at thehostingmill.com. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

You can reach us at service@thehostingmill.com, by phone on +880 1313-197426, or through our contact page, which also lists our postal address.

02

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

  • Information you give us — your name, email address and message when you use our contact form or email us, and any details you choose to include about your website or hosting needs.
  • Information collected automatically — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) and, where you allow it, analytics cookies that tell us which pages are read and how visitors move between them.
  • Information from affiliate partners — when you buy through an affiliate link, the host may tell us that a sale occurred and its value. We do not receive your name, payment details or account information from hosts.

03

How we use your information

  • To answer your questions, corrections and testing requests.
  • To keep the website secure, prevent spam and diagnose technical problems.
  • To understand which reviews and guides are useful, so we can improve them.
  • To reconcile affiliate commission with partner hosts.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

04

Legal bases for processing

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent (for non-essential cookies and analytics); our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the site and replying to messages; and legal obligation for records we must keep. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

05

Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site — our web host, email provider, form and anti-spam tools, analytics and backup services — under agreements that limit how they may use it. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our readers, our team or others.

06

How long we keep it

  • Contact messages: up to 24 months after our last reply, then deleted.
  • Server and security logs: up to 90 days.
  • Analytics data: up to 26 months, in aggregated or pseudonymised form.
  • Affiliate and financial records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.

07

Security

Our site uses HTTPS throughout. Access to messages and administrative systems is limited to team members who need it and protected with strong authentication. We keep software updated, run a web application firewall and take regular encrypted backups. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected people promptly if a breach is likely to put them at risk.

08

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent. To make a request, email us; we may ask you to confirm your identity and will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to a data-protection authority.

09

Children's privacy

The Hosting Mill is intended for adults choosing hosting services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10

Links to other websites

Our reviews link to hosting providers and other websites. Their privacy practices are their own; please read their policies before giving them personal information, particularly at checkout.

11

Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least once a year and when our practices change. The effective date at the top of the page shows the latest version. Significant changes will be highlighted on our home page for 30 days.
